Details

This design proposal aims to find a solution for an inventory constraint for the client. The primary objective is to maximize timber utilization while minimizing waste at all design and construction stages. Dynamic programming is harnessed to optimize stock usage, strategically allocating different sizes from the inventory to various parts of the structure. Moreover, the structure dynamically adapts to accommodate live inventory statistics throughout the optimization process.
At the same time, this design aspires to achieve an extended span, creating a canopy for activities below, all within the bounds of the available timber stock. It employs a rational tectonic approach to ensure structural efficiency and a clear structural strategy for straightforward construction. Additionally, the potential for disassembly and reassembly is considered. All of these design goals are in direct response to the given inventory constraint.
In essence, this project embodies an architectural approach deeply rooted in resource optimization, sustainability, and efficient design. It harmonizes structural and aesthetic considerations while minimizing environmental impact, addressing real-world constraints with a dynamic and adaptive approach.
